Blade Runner Movie Poster

Tuesday, 24 November 2009

This is my final movie poster out of the 4 for the film "Blade Runner". The poster shows an image of the main star played by Harrison Ford with an image of Neo Tokyo overlayed over it. It didn't take that long to make just a bit of eye candy. Fellow class mates said they liked it. Do you? Did I mention it symbolizes a greed for humanity's thirst for each others foul blood escorted by the notion of madness?

Metropolis Movie Poster

Sunday, 15 November 2009

This is the 3rd film poster out of the 4. The design is for the film Metropolis.Original plan was to make a cyborg using photography and Photoshop, however I couldn't be bothered. The next plan was to draw the cyborg...that failed. So this was my conclusion. Made it simple as can be but I think works.

My Motive behind the final piece is to depict the separation between the different classes of the city; in the case of Metropolis the segregation between the workers and high rulers of this dystopian society. I gave it the round shape to portray the earth and symbolize how the gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger. Yup...fuck the system! Happy blogging :)

Brave New World Movie Poster

Tuesday, 10 November 2009

"Brave New World" Movie poster the second poster out of the four. I designed the poster to be high contrast between the face and the mouth. The image represents a artificially processed human taking the daily dose of the drug "Soma" as seen in the film. However one can not guess this if he/she hasn't seen the film or read the book. Which comes to the second motive behind the design; that is to make the viewer think...WTF is this? What did you think when you were staring at this oddity of design?

Ginko Almighty

Sunday, 8 November 2009

I call this one "The moon maybe full tonight but our existence is in vain." The portrait of a heroin addict found in the shady streets of London on November the 7th 2009. Upon the time this photo was taken I was asked by the addict called "Ginko The Almighty" if I would like to buy the used needle for £75 in order for him to get his next buzz. I did consider but the rusty edge, fresh blood surrounding the worn out instrument and the smell of urine threw me off.

I was told that the good Lord brought me to one called "Ginko" and it was my destiny to buy the used needle and release a round of the heavenly high substance into my own veins. I replied "Sir I always carry a spare. I would love to join you but the tubes will be closing down soon and its ever so cold tonight" Ginko replied with a blank stare as his soul crept into the realm of unknown pleasures. This portrait represents "Ginko The Almighty" in all his glory.

Dawn of the Dead Movie Poster

Friday, 30 October 2009

"Dawn of the Dead" Poster designed by yours truly. This is one of the four posters that I will be posting. For this poster I have used image manipulation and turned my friend into a zombie. The inspiration for the image came from decaying textures and zombies! The poster uses a mixture of display and true type and I think it fits the norm of what a movie poster should be. Thanks and keep checking out my blog for the future posters and much more work.

Dystopia Area 52

"Dystopia Area 52" is the last project from the the dystopia series. This is a 90 second still image movie based in the style off "La Jetée". The movie depicts a evil robot invading the space of Area 52 where green army men reside. I made this by taking photographs of a set I made in my back yard. Then scanned in the negatives on the comp once for the original pics. Then the negatives were scratched and scanned in again. Finally they were edited on photoshop to create the simple animation. There are two versions of the movie one in black and white which was made using the original and scratched negatives and then the colour version that is the same just with added colour thanks to photoshop.

Life in a Jar

Friday, 6 February 2009

"Life in a Jar" is a film poster I designed for a fictional film. The intent was to create a unit of work which highlights the issues dealing with cloning, stem cells and the new era of science. For some neat O facts about this poster: the fetus was made out of clay and the background is a image of radiator pipes.

First ever piece of Graphic Design!

This is my first ever piece of graphic design. It is a magazine cover which relates to my personal identity. I made it using a cast of my face with images of me, and things I can relate with in the background. The aim was to show that we all hide behind a masks, but behind the masks lies a unique experience of life. Another intention was to portray that because of the masks we hide behind in our everyday lives we sometimes create insecurities which only exist in our minds. Pretty deep for a first project lol.

Typographical Postcards "You'll never walk alone"

Friday, 30 January 2009

Checkout the postcards I have made for the "You'll never walk alone" project. The first 3 portray a dystopian theme and the bottom 3 send a utopian message. All the postcards are strictly typographical based which means that the images are purely made from text.

You'll never walk alone posters pt2

Part 2 of the "You'll never walk alone" posters concludes with a utopian themed (everything nice with rainbows andn fairies up in the air singing about how perfect life is...) poster made out of smarties (round chocolate sweets with a coloured candy layer) Yum!

Here is a poster I have made using mince meat some food colouring with the additional help of my bathtub floor. The aim of this poster is to depict dystopia (doom and gloom). Enjoy the creativity :)
